| The Help Desk Forum :: Ask us a Question! |
|
Help Desk :: If you are looking for help you have come to the right place. This page will
tell you everything you need to find what help you seek. To save everyone some
time please read this.
First of all, different problems have differing ways in which they can be
best resolved. If you have a question about the forums the best place to find
quick answers is the FAQ.
There you will find the frequently asked questions about forum issues and, of
course, the answers. If you don't find the answer you need there you should try
the help forum. The help forum is the best place to get answers from staff and members about site
problems you might not even have to ask, your question might have already been
asked and answered there.
Click here to open a public request for help on the help forum.
If you have a question about something related to moderation (e.g. a removed post) please contact us. Please note that not all questions about moderation are answered, as the Moderators deal with many frustrated users every day and do not have time to answer all inquiries.
Note: You will never need to supply your password to anyone. Not even the
site administrator. We will not ask for it, it's encrypted in our database and
we can't see it even if we want to. This is the way we like it, we don't want to
know your password and you should never tell it to anyone. If you have forgotten
your password you can have a new one sent to your email. If for some reason this
doesn't work for you (e.g. you used a false email address or one that is no
longer working for you) use the contact forms to request help.
The contact forms should be used as a last resort
for help. The support email addresses are maintained by volunteers and this
option is best reserved for issues that need to be discussed in private (do not
post about problems with other site members on the help forum, use this contact
page for that) or for issues that you were not able to find solutions for
elsewhere. The contact form is not for asking questions that are not about able2know.org. Many people ask for help with things unrelated to able2know.org and these types of questions should be posted to the forums for others to answer.
We are here to help, we actually enjoy it. And if you do your best to seek
help in the right places it will make everything easier and you will get the
help you need more speedily. Ask us a Question!

Or banning of mass users.
I am tired of the group who keeps trolling around.
I know you mods are super human and are up for any task.....is there anything to be done besides wait it out?

This is the second time this has happened now. I got a message in my personal email that said I had a PM waiting for me. I then logon and there are no new PM's in my inbox.
What if someone thinks I'm ignoring them!??

I've been having some pretty irritating problems this morning, so i thought i'd ask for some help. I keep getting timed out, and cannot keep my connection to this site. But i don't know if it is this site, the ISP servers, or the browser. We use Firefox, which is, in my never humble opinion, always a problem with "timing you out" while you're trying to load a page. At the same time, when i finally got into this site, i got that odd "word processor" view of the pages which i have seen when site maintenance is being performed.
So, if there is some site maintenance going on, it would help me to know that. If this was announced and i missed it . . . eh . . . so sue me. If it is the ISP, there's really not much i can do, because the ISP program installed on this computer says that it is performing properly--and we all know that corporations who sell us things never, ever lie.
If it is the Firefox browser, i'd appreciate it if anyone can tell me how to adjust the "time out" setting for Firefox. This is making me crazy, and it's not as though i needed any help with that.

Every time in the last ten minutes or so that I try to open a new thread, or go to the main page and look at new posts listed I see this -
