Who got screwed by ecowater systems?
Posted by icewidge on May, 13. :: 6 Comments
Wondering if anyone else out there thinks this is a big scam? I got stuck with one of these top of the line water softeners and reverse osmosis systems and have no way to get out of it. The company gives you a whole 3 days to return the system, once those 3 days are up, you are now stuck with it. Yes, Iamb the idiot that got talked into buying it, but 3 days is not enough time to really look into things. It has been a nightmare dealing with the local dealer. They sold it, and will service it, but don't care how happy I am with the system. Salesman lied or was not clear about details....I found out more about the system from the service tech, who yes, has already been to the house to service this "top of the line" system. Before anyone jumps into a scam like this, look into other options, such as Lowes. No reason to spend $6,000 on a water system when you can spend less than $1,000 on a similar system. They will tell you it does not compare, but I don't see the difference, but, Iamb also not a water expert. This company throws customer satisfaction out the door and only cares about getting their money. My lifetime warranty only covers labor for the 1st year, thats not in the contract anywhere. All I can do now is try to sell the system to someone else, otherwise, Iamb stuck paying for a product, I don't want. These are things for anyone considering one of these products to think about... Don't be this guy and get screwed over by a fast talking salesman who doesn't even show you whats in the water, just throws some chemicals in that make it look dirty.

Im curious about the AC unit in our apt.

I am positive it is older then Ma and Pa kettle.. but since it works I can not expect it to be replaced.

What I notice is that.. on hot days.. days above 85 or so..
If I have the ac on for any temp.. the thing will hardly EVER turn off.

I can set it at 78 degrees.. and it will run.. and run.. and run.. and run.

I know that this could be many things-
Insulation issues of the building
Improper thermostat ( Maybe?)

Im wondering if there is anything that I can do.. that may help.

Is there such a thing as AC unit check ups so to speak?

i dont mind forking out the money for it .. I would not expect the landlord to any how Rolling Eyes

for christs sake.. Just today,, with out WARNING of any kind.. he has people ripping out our stairs..

which leaves me trapped upstairs.. and my husband wandering around some where because he can not get in..
(but that is another thread entirely..)

Open Houses – is this is a good tactic to sell?
Posted by Linkat on May, 08. :: 54 Comments
I have heard mixed things about open houses. Is this is a good way to sell a home? How often should you hold an open house? My realtor thinks these are a sign of desperation (well we are getting a bit desperate) – my stager thinks these are a good thing as if you have a home that shows well it can convince some one on the fence to buy.

So assuming your home is priced low (which ours is); and shows well (ours does – we even hired a stager and have been told by various realtors); are open houses a good thing or just a waste of time? Maybe our realtor is just lazy.

Need help moving a RainSoft Amazon Gold system

My husband and I just moved (the houses are within 10 minutes of each other) and want to disconnect and reconnect our Rainsoft Amazon Gold softwater system ourselves. Is there a manual with specific instructions on how to do this? I'm pretty sure my non-plumber (but very handy) husband could do it if he had a manual with pictures.

Kitchen Cabinets
Posted by jodie34 on May, 04. :: 5 Comments
I would like to replace my Kitchen Cabinets. I would just like a ball park figure on what it might cost to repace them. I know a lot of things enter into this but I have no idea as to what something like that my cost. Thanks in advance.
