| The Original Art & Photography Forum :: Ask us a Question! |
|
Original Art & Photography :: For this forum, original art will refer to work created by oneself in whatever media and medium chosen. The range will go from traditional arts like painting, sculpture, photography and ceramics to artisan-type crafts such as quilting, whittling, and blown glass. To throw the curve farther still, some artists work in unusual areas, with conceptual art, minimal art and performance! Whatever your 'take' on original art, this is your place to discuss, comment, question, show and share. Links are encouraged for those who are willing and able to post their work to share it. Positive criticism is recommended and a willingness to consider the reaches of individual creativity. Ask us a Question!

| My grandfathers cameras |
Posted by shewolfnm on May, 12. :: 32 Comments
My mom and my uncle cleaned out several boxes of things that have been in the family for.. 60 (?) years? Maybe less in some cases.
I get the wonderful cameras.
I have had them for a few months now.. and with very little luck , I have vaguely identified a couple but not all
After I identify them, I want to use them
Im sure these cameras are not extremely old, and most are .. at least what I can find.. for sale for under a hundred bucks or so..
But I am curious about their photo quality and if anyone knows anything about them?
No. I do not expect crisp shart, digital quality photos from them
In fact I am looking for gritty if that makes sense
I also have a working keystone video camera with manual still in its original box that I want to pull out and try as well..

| Concept art versus designing? help me out guys! |

I was pretty sure i was an "artist" where i should be drawing things i see, ut its to easy, i can draw anything i see already, i just need to master some textures and techniques and just draw more, but its not what i thought i loved, i like drawing things from my mind, not from sight, and anyways this is confusing for me cuz i dont know alot about art, but if i have "parameters" or a "goal" that the device will be used fopr,t hen i can draw it constantly and i can vary it alot.
but i don't like just creating creatures out ofm my imagination either, basically i like to design machinery an shit i guess, like an inventore slash designer.
I just want some advice on what kind of jobs are between art and design and inventing?
what is there?
