Quotes :: We've all read or heard things that were just perfect for the occasion. It might be a witticism or insight read in a newspaper or book, a phrase or slogan uttered by a TV announcer, or some pearl of wisdom spouted by your four year old.
Quotations add flavor to a person's writing, speech, or conversation. They may impel you to action, open your eyes to new understanding, or simply amuse. The Quotes Forum offers members the opportunity to share favorite quotations, ask questions about a quote or its author, or discuss the impact and meaning of the quote.
If you are a lover of words, and enjoy the enrichment that quotations make to your written and verbal communication, the Quotes Forum is a great place to share. Ask us a Question!

What does this phrase mean? I know they are song lyrics but what does it mean "To be the kind of girl designed - To be kissed upon the eyes."

| Your Winter Garment of Repentance... |
Posted by Noddy24 on March, 14. :: 2 Comments
According to Omar, the Tentmaker:
| Quote: |
Come, fill the Cup, and in the Fire of Spring
The Winter Garment of Repentance fling:
The Bird of Time has but a little way
To fly---and Lo! the Bird is on the Wing.
|
What does your Winter Garment of Repentance look like?
Mine is a ratty, baggy pair of ripped blue jeans and a badly faded dashiki with a ripped seam I should have re-stitched months ago.
All contributions to the bonfire are welcome.

"I am a Palestinian. Hath not a Palestinian eyes? Hath not a Palestinian hands,
organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions; fed with the same
food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases,
heal'd by the same means, warm'd and cool'd by the same winter
and summer, as a Jew is? If you prick us, do we not bleed? If
you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die?
And if you wrong us, do we not revenge? If we are like you in the
rest, we will resemble you in that."
Can you name the source for this modified quote?
