How do you think an Australian woman would cope living in the Muslim world in Northern Morocco? Not like here I know. Would she be compelled to follow their ways?

48 states in less than five days - why?
Posted by Linkat on May, 09. :: 10 Comments
Three men say they drove to 48 states in less than five days.

Josh Keeler, Adam Gatherum and Joey Stocking rode 7,000 miles in a 2005 Toyota Scion. They say their longest stop was 15 minutes for gas and a bathroom break.

They spent more than $1,000 on gas.

What's the purpose of this? It couldn't be fun - stuck in a car for 5 days - and not really experiencing anything.

The 5-stans of the Middle East

I'm off to the Middle East on Thursday, May 8, 2008, for 17-discovery filled days. I'll be certain to take over 1,000 photos of the sites with many from the trails of the Silk Road. It's a Road Scholar program, and we'll have 19 in our group. My roommate is a fellow from Florida I met on our Israel trip two years ago. This will add five new countries for my Century Club list.

Packing for this trip is not easy, because the climate can be cool in the low 60s, or in the high 90s. With luggage restrictions getting tough on extra weight and/or pieces, it's a challenge, but I'm taking two cameras just in case.

Travel games for two people on long plane flights

32 hours. We can't count white volkswagens (they're really seen above 10,000 feet). We'll have uno, and the mile high club, but have you got any other innovative ideas to pass the time time on a long haul?

Visiting the glacier areas before they melt away
Posted by BumbleBeeBoogie on April, 27. :: 1 Comment
A friend of mine is planning a trip with one of her friends. She asked me where I would go if I had a choice.

I would visit the glacier areas before them melt away into the oceans. We may not get another opportunity to see them for centuries once they are gone.
