I am currently trying to learn Norwegian and have a few things to start me off. Is there anything on the web that could help me on my way?

http://www.transparent.com/languagepages/norwegian/Resources.htm

There are many more links on internet.

You can usually also buy books with a CD so you can learn to pronounce words correctly

You get yourself a book with grammar, vocabulary and tests - the results of the tests should be in the back. Best is a book with pictures so you have both a word and a picture. You listen to a CD for the pronunciation.
You work for about an hour every day or more or less depending on your time. You go into internet and try to start reading the newspapers in that language.
It craves a lot of self discipline - but it can be done. I know people who have learned languages that way.
