Is plural correct?

This household certainly uses a lot of creams

Is 'creams' correct? I've heard it said, but wonder whether it is correct. However, two of my dictionaries state that the word is uncountable.

Many thanks.

Cream would be correct. You could have as many containers of cream as you want, but there would still be only one cream.

Now, I have heard people say they would like two creams with their coffee, but what they mean is that they would like two individual containers of cream. It's the same with sugar, by the way.

If you're talking about "cream" as a condiment, "uses a lot of cream" is correct.

If you're talking about creams, unguents, lotions and other accessories for feminine adornment, "creams" is plural.
