I remember my grandmother had one of these and it used to fascinate me how her cook/laundress ironed shirts with it, and not once catching her fingers.

My husband's grandparents had a summer house in Mexico and they had "staff". Such things are completely alien to my upbringing and I always find them interesting.

I have memories of our mangle being bought in '45-'46, one of the first models off the line after manufacturing had retooled from making war machinery.

My mother used the mangle to iron sheets--which had to be properly folded first. Since I was left handed, I was usually drafted to help my mother fold sheets. I hated putting my book down for right-this-minute household chores.

I still do.

Looking for the value of an old mangle iron - Kenmore.

I have this ironer and am looking for a manual. Please let me know if you want to sell it or copy it and send me the relevanr info. I paid $75 for this one which is in perfect working order.

I wd ask a museum that has household items of that era. But I think it's worth very little.
