The attractive young man or woman sits spotlighted on the stage after agreeing to answer a series of questions that range from mildly titillating to outrageously personal. He or she is wired to a polygraph and must answer truthfully according to the machine in order to win a quite attractive sum of money.
Already the presumption is that jobs, relationships, even marriages, have been left in shambles with such questions as:
1) Have you ever slept with any of your coworkers' wives?
2) Have you ever wished your husband was a better lover?
3) Have you ever wanted to do something that you knew would destroy your marriage?
4) Have you ever done anything that, if known, would destroy your marriage?
I haven't watched an entire episode yet, but what snippets I've seen have made my skin crawl and my primary reaction to the whole thing is that it is just wrong.
But it is gaining ratings week by week and shows no signs of fading.
Should I give it a chance? Why?

It's a really terrible show.
I watched, fingers over my eyes, about twenty minutes of it and I can't think for the life of me why anyone would subject themselves to such an examination for money when, in order to get the money, one has to tear apart whatever love exists in their otherwise pathetic life?
You end up with some money. BFD>
It's a wonderful opportunity for amoral losers to gain some camera time.

Well we pretty much agree Joe. I can't watch. I am not much into boxing as a sport because I can't reconcile sport and something in which the goal is to injure another person. Risk of injury is okay, but intentional injury no.
Seems to me that this show is geared to inflict as much emotional injury on people as possible. But it is getting good ratings. So some folks must like it and probably some of those folks are people we would enjoy having coffee with. Then again people call Dr. Laura too.

It's a great idea because people watch it.
There are one of two things happening her.
One; The person under fire doesn't give a shit about their SO anymore and is leaving them anyway.
Two; The person under fire and their SO are in on it together and the SO already knows everything.
If its anything other than those two things, the people get what they deserve.
I watched it once.
That was the first and last time.

When it ended some weeks ago I though "whew", finally.
But it's coming back.
Next week.

Wouldn't surprise me if the answers are rehearsed.
