Affordable Car w/ Cargo Space

Anyone have any advice for an affordable car (under 20K) that has extra cargo room? I have been looking into the crossovers since I don't need something as big as an SUV. The Journey comes in at only 19K, and Dodge is offering $1,000 cash back right now. Thoughts??

My '03 Ford Focus has rear seats that fold down to extend the trunk by several feet. I suppose the newer ones have continued the practice, though this doesn't sound like what you're looking for.

Have you looked at the Scion xB or xD? You could be under $17K with either.

Scion comes to mind first. Great cars (built by Toyota). Cheap crossover and cargo space also screams Chrysler PT cruiser.

Dodge Caliber is right around 20k base model. Ford Focus does well in reliability categories.

Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix? Mechanically the same car, but you can't get the Vibe in AWD. And not sure if they have the Vibe for 2008, but you can still find 2007's.
