What happens next?

Imagine if you will....

"Howard" and "Monica"* have been married a while, they have a couple of tweenagers, a dog, a house in the suburbs. By all accounts life is good.

One day Howard calls and says he has to work late. He has a great job but this sometimes happens.

Monica and the kids go about their evening when the phone rings.

Monica notes from the caller ID that the call is coming from Howards cell phone. She answers. She hears her husband having sex with some other girl.

It seems that working late actually meant going to a bar, meeting some girl, getting passionately intertwined with her in the backseat of a car and accidentally hitting "redial" on his pocketed cell phone.

Imagine the next 2 to 24 hours will unfold. Write a little story for us all to enjoy.

*Not their real names and certainly not me and Mr. B in disguise.

Monica immediately goes to her favorite forum, it's full of real smart types like this Robert dude. "They can help me", she blurts at the login screen. Into Relationships and Marriage she goes, but her cursor pauses over the "New Topics" button. She sees guz is online.

Guz would make fun of her. She had to think fast. She considered creating a new account but no, they'd see right through that. "A game!".

A game made perfect sense. These bastards like games! Let's make it a story, I will use their plots as advice on what to do! But.... some of the real smart types might see through this... Robert for sure....

"Better add a disclaimer" she announced to herself. "That'll throw him off."

NO IT WON'T!

If it had been me I wouldn't be anywhere near this computer. Mo and I would be somewhere sunny, warm and lovely with cash in our pockets and nothing but fun on the agenda.

Plus, Mr. B is not NEARLY that stupid.

Oh, this Robert dude thinks he is smart, and he most likely is, but he forgot certain things that left him open. Since Monica is a nice person, she won't reveal what that is. She will just let Robert wonder where he went wrong. As far as Howard, I hope he gets what he deserves.

Howard, of course, has no clue that this phone phenomenon happened.

He needs to get home now, since Monica will have dinner waiting.

But, Gwendolyn is proving difficult to extricate himself from.

First of all, his right foot is caught in the gearbox.

And his left hand is caught in one of her piercing thingies.

And she is sneezing uncontrollably.

This Robert dude is smart -- he knew this is my favorite forum.

But he didn't know that Gus has promised to never ever make fun on one of my threads ever again. I don't remember why he promised that but he did and he hasn't.

That was my first question when the story was presented to me, osso - did Howard know that he had called home? Did he go home expecting everything to be normal? Or had he somehow already figured it out?

It is late, but not too late! Monica reaches for the yellow pages and seeks
out several places of businesses that advertise evening services.
She's dialing several numbers and on her third try she succeeds.
The nice man on the phone promised to be there within the
next ten minutes to do the task she asked for, and he's
reasonably priced too. Monica is smiling!

Then she enters the kitchen, takes out a flashlight from the drawer and
proceeds to the basement. She doesn't have to search long for the old,

traveled around the world with this suitcase and he just couldn't part with

Monica takes the suitcase to the kitchen to dust it off a bit, then slowly
walks up the stairs to her bedroom. There, she grabed the phone and
dialed her mother's number and while she waited for an answer, Monica
thought how grateful she is to have the kids stay with her mother for
another week. They love spending their school vacations with their
grandmother. No one answers the phone and Monica leaves the phone
and opened the suitcase. Just as she was throwing some of her husbands
shirts into the suitcase, she hears the doorbell ringing. Monica quickly
looks out the window and sees a truck parked there. On the side of
the truck she reads "24/7 Locksmith"...........

Howard breathes deeply several times and then calmly extracts his foot.

He disengages his left hand while trying to figure out what to offer Gwenny to stop her nose running.

If only he still wore undershirts.

osso, I thought you were headed towards some kind of post-modern real time story but that guy has been looking for some sort of a tissue for a long time!
