SUMMER THEATRE

went to our first summer theatre performance of this summer in the small town of GANANOQUE , ontario .
we've been buying season's tickets for many years and seen some great performers and shows .
this afternoon we saw "assorted candies" by quebec writer michel tremblay - a show about a montreal family in the 60's - the main actor was an eight year old boy who sat under the table and simply observed the going's on : GREAT PLAY !

the theatre is in an ideal location right on the st. lawrence river .
one steps out onto the balcony and sees the thousand islands - a perfect combination of nature and art .
LES MIS will start next week - looking forward to seeing it again .

tourboats tie up right at the playhouse - or you can come in your own boat

We loved the playhouse when we lived in Kingston, hamburger. Mr. Fix-it's employer always bought a block of tickets and would give out a couple of free tickets per employee if you asked. When Mr. Fix-it called to ask about tickets, the person he spoke with said she'd never had a request from his department before and so she gave us two tickets for EACH SHOW that summer!

(Do you find the casino has changed the small town feel of Gananoque at all?)

Gotta love the theatre. Tonight it's Twelfth Night at Bard on the Beach.

enjoy your beach party with william !
we have about six or seven summer theatres/venues within about an hour's drive - plus local buskers' fest , jazzfest , outdoor concerts ... ... we'll have to ration our time .
