Hello everybody,

Please post here your own abstract photos. Here's one mine.

Hey there, nice shot! A question about your poll, though. One would be bad and 5 would be great? Or the other way around?

This was taken in the "wash" at Capitol Reef National Park near Torrey, Utah. It had rained, and then the sun dried the earth, to form what I thought was an interesting pattern.

These are all lovely!

I love that... is it tree bark, Phoenix?

I don't dabble in abstract too much (though I might start now!) but here are a few I've done:

not the other way around. So the best mark is 5, and the worst is 1.

boomer- Yes, it is a tree trunk. I am not terribly artistic, but I keep seeing these interesting patterns in nature. Now that I have my first digital camera, I am going to experiment with taking closeups of those sorts of things. Glad that you liked them.

Your pictures are very interesting....................they have an erotic feel about them.

"svezivo" that is the name of an album where that photo is the only one... Look in "public albums"... I'm not sure, but I think you didn't say what you think of my photo ?

OK. I found it. The first one is the one you posted on A2K. I found it a bit too harsh. I get a feel of stone and barbed wire when I look at it.

I liked my version of the other picture better. I think that the color adds to the interest. I was on a trip in Utah when I took that picture. What is so amazing about that area is the red color of the rocks and mud. That was the feeling that I wanted to express.

You have two photos in your gallery and one of them is Phoenix's!?

Proving the old saw about "everyone's a critic".....

I like the tree photo best of all. It almost looks like a satellite photo and it took me a bit to figure out what it was. That is the nature of abstraction - it shouldn't be too obvious. If it was laid out horizontally the illusion would be great. It would have taken me longer to figure it out.

I think it's beautiful either way but trickier on the horizontal!

It looks like a river.... no.... mountains.... no... rocks... wait.... it's... it's....

Gorgeous and fun to look at!

Hope you don't mind Phoenix, but I played around with your photo a bit to see what sorts of patterns could be made from it. Loving it!
